~~~~~~~~A Pool is Born~~~~~~~~

Construction started end of April, 2002.
First swim on June 2, 2002

Here they have just dug the basic shape of the pool. Michelle is "posing" for us in what will be the shallow end. Brandon is standing on the mound of dirt behind her (in a yellow shirt).

After this was done, they put in the metal frame (which you can see below). Then it rained...and it rained...and it decided to rain some more.

After it finally stopped raining and the ground had some time to dry out, they did all the backfilling. The gravel was nicely smoothed around the pool and into the surrounding areas.

Date--May 9, 2002

At this point, most of my old landscaping is gone and destroyed. But it will also be fun to redesign the new yard.

In this picture you can see the shallow end to the right of the pool (steps on left of shallow end) and the deep end towards the back. The little shed in the back will be cleaned out and used for pool supplies.
May 17 the concrete got poured. What a day of hard work for the crew that was here. Until the concrete was poured, I still had a hard time picturing the whole thing, but now I can really see it coming alive.
My old patio had some terrible cracks in it, so we decided to have that redone also. There are two steps down from the patio. Also, leading off to the right around the side of the house (out to the front) is a concrete walkway.

Next to be completed is the fence, the equipment for the pool, and then by the end of the week they should be installing the bottom cement/sand and the liner.

Today is Friday, May 31, and after a bunch of stress filled days due to fence parts not being in and needing an unknown inspection, the liner guys arrived at 7:15, the fence inspector at 9:30. The concrete/sand bottom was completed, the liner put in, the hose stuck in and the guys were out of here by 10.

That's Brandon and I watching them work. We were so enthralled.

This is pretty much a finalized photo. The sod has been installed and a few bushes. We are definitely enjoying swimming in our new pool.
Photos to be updated as the pool is completed. It will be fun to have a visual picture of the changes.
